General Questions

  • The best place to get updates about my work is my Telegram channel. You don't need to talk at all, or even join the channel to see my posts - it's just a place where you can see what I'm working on and get notified with any updates. I post near-daily with WIPs and general updates when I'm working on stuff, and it's the best place to know when my commissions open.

The best way to contact me, outside of my Contact page, is via Instagram! Twitter works too, but messages often get buried in my message requests. I just please ask that you don't just message "hi" and get straight to your question - this way, I'm more likely to respond and I can get a message back to you quicker.

  • Yes! My fursuits are glasses-friendly. They open at the back with a zipper and have a space in front of the wearer’s face that allows for it.

  • Nope, sorry! If you commission me, you’re commissioning me for my style.

  • I can make pretty much everything, apart from skull animals and protogens/primogens. I will let you know if you have a species I cannot create.

  • I use many different materials for my costumes, all synthetic. I use a combination of upholstery foam, spandex, scuba fabric, hot glue, plastics, faux fur, minky and fleece (and more!).

My headbases are upholstery foam, lined with light-coloured scuba foam (which is basically a thick spandex).

I do NOT use any 3D printing or resin in my work. I do not have access to 3D printing or resin. If that's something you require or would prefer on your fursuit, please seek another maker!

  • No to both, sorry!

I only work on my own headbases currently, and I only offer fully-furred heads.

  • It depends what it is and where it's from!

I have to be quite picky when it comes to materials, as I strive to use the best quality I can find. If the fabric you've suggested is low-quality, or I can't find an idea of the quality, then I won't be able to use it. My preferred faux fur sellers are Big Z Fabric and Howl Fabric.

If your furs come from those places, or are proven to be high quality - great! I can use it.

I may also refuse specific fabric depending on where its from, due to shipping charges or shipping times.

I also do not take fabric from commissioners directly.

QUOTES AND COMMISSIONS

  • I open occasionally, and I announce these openings via social media, my website and my mailing list. A quote form opening will always be followed by a commission opening a couple of weeks later. Usually it’s once in the summer, and once in the autumn.

When the time is getting close, you'll also see the dates appear on the homepage. It's usually a weekend, and I usually open my forms around midday in the UK!

  • I am not open for quotes all of the time due to the volume I used to receive and how little time I had to answer them. Before commissions open, I will open a form for quotes and this will give you the chance to get an accurate price.

If you're looking for how much you need to save, you should give my price guide a visit! There's a handy calculator there too. It will give you an idea of how much you'd roughly need to save up. If there's anything you're unsure about, or you'd like to ask about something that isn't listed, feel free to give me a message.

  • Nope! If you missed out on the quote opening before a commission opening, no need to stress. Just make sure you give my pricing guide a read before applying. If there's something you want that isn't on the price guide, just give me a message and I can let you know how much I would price that feature (if I can do it at all).

  • For all orders, I will need measurements from you. When discussing your order, I will ask for these measurements.

For orders including heads: I will ask for your head circumference.

For orders including handpaws: I will need hand tracings from you. Simply scan these into your computer and send these to me through the platform you are communicating with me on.

For 5-fingered paws, loosely spread out all of your fingers. For four-fingered paws, loosely spread out your fingers with 2 of them (middle and first, or middle and ring) touching together. I will give you instructions if you need them.

For orders including bodysuits: I will need a Duct Tape Dummy from you. If you don't know how to make a DTD, you can find an extremely useful tutorial by Beetlecat Originals here: www.beetlecatoriginals.com/dtd/. (you don’t have to use that EXACT tutorial though!) Make sure that this is accurate and well-made. I can't use a DTD that is falling apart! If I find anything wrong with the dummy, then I will ask you to send over another one.

Be aware that you are responsible for giving me correct measurements. Suits that don't fit due to poor measurements or faulty/improperly made DTDs are not my fault and adjustments may not be eligible for included repairs (seen in the TOS). Please tell me if you see any errors in my work or if you need any changes/adjustments when I send you pictures! Some errors are extremely difficult (almost impossible) for me to fix later down the line.

  • Here are some tips that make choosing your project more likely:

Make sure you've properly read my website. The price guide, the FAQ and the TOS are the most important parts to read. Make sure you understand what I offer, and that you have an idea of how much your fursuit will cost, even if you don't have a quote. I ask for you to give me a rough expected price during the commission application process - this is so that I know whether you've read my pricing! Also take a look at my Gallery and look at the kinds of things I enjoy making, as I’m more likely to choose projects that stand out as something I would enjoy!

Have a clear, unshaded fursuit reference with 2 or more views, and don't just submit art pieces of your character. Make sure the markings are clearly shown and as consistent as possible. Even better if you can add labels or notes!

Do some research beforehand about what's actually possible to make into a fursuit. Have you checked what faux fur colours are available? Do you understand that compromises may have to be made in terms of colours? If you want something that isn't shown on my website, have you asked me first if it's possible? Is your design fursuit-friendly?

Take your time when filling in the application form. Commission openings that require an application form are never first-come-first-serve, so you have plenty of time to go through it. Read everything carefully and answer everything carefully - there is no rush, so you'll want to submit a well-thought-out and well-written form rather than a rushed one with little or incorrect information. Also make sure that your email address is correct! There is nothing worse than seeing "address not found" in my inbox after sending a quote or commission email. As I only require giving an email address, it's not possible to find you again if you give me the wrong email and you don’t provide another social media.

While these tips certainly help with getting accepted, please understand that (as much as I would like to) I cannot take every person's project on. I am just one person working out of a very small space, I physically can't take more than two or three projects at a time due to my lack of space and my desire to keep my queue short and sweet. A rejected application is absolutely nothing personal, and you can most definitely reapply again at a later date if you wish!

  • It depends on your fursuit type, its complexity and your place on the queue. Here are some typical time frames for costume types from start to finish (not including queue times):

    Heads: 2-4 weeks

    Partials: 3-6 weeks

    Full-body costumes: 8-10 weeks

These times can vary depending on material delivery times, duct-tape-dummy complications, and things like breaks and national holidays. They can also depend on how experimental the piece is! For example, Noodles took around 5 weeks to make despite being just a head, as they had a LOT of experimental techniques used on them!

Please bear in mind that I am a one-person team with a disability working out of a small space. This is why I only take 2-3 projects at once. If I encounter delays, I will let the commissioners know and keep them in the loop. Communication takes place via the preferred social platform, and I offer my Telegram channel, where I post any general communications.

Clients are also free to poke me for an update whenever they feel fit!

  • No. I can't work to deadlines and I don't offer rush fees. This is for a variety of reasons.

I do, however, give you a rough ETA upon accepting your commission slot, and another (if it has changed) upon starting your fursuit if you're lower down the queue. Rough ETAs look like:

    June-July 2023

    or

    Summer-Autumn 2023

They are very broad and subject to change if a project takes more or less time than originally thought. This both gives the commissioner an idea of when their suit will be completed, and gives me peace of mind knowing that the commissioner isn't left in the dark.

Rough ETAs are NOT deadlines, and should not be treated as such. If these change, they will be communicated swiftly with the commissioner.

Shipping FAQs

  • No. My fursuit prices exclude shipping. Shipping costs vary wildly depending on your location and the size of the project, and will be calculated after completion.

  • Yep, I can ship wherever my couriers can go!

Please bear in mind that shipping outside the United Kingdom can get very costly for me, and can cost you an extra £250+ GBP, so please make sure that you'll be able to cover this while saving up. The cost varies depending on the project size and the location.

  • I use couriers such as DPD or UPS. I do not use Royal Mail.

Fursuit shipments are insured and fully tracked.

FURSUIT MAKING FAQs

  • You can start at Fursuitmak.ing! This is a new website made by Gatorwaves that has a lot of resources on how to make fursuits. It’s new, so check back and you might find more added!

  • I might post tutorials occasionally on my Youtube channel, though I generally don’t have the time to make them!

  • I use Howl Fabrics and Big Z fabrics generally!
